You now can share your webpages on social medial feeds, take notes and interact with apps right without switching apps. For some users, Safari extensions can be pretty useful. Others, on the other hand, find them annoying. If you happen to sit in the latter group, you will be happy to know that you can easily turn off Safari extensions on your Mac.
In this step-by-step guide, we will walk you through the steps to disable extensions in Safari on your Mac. Before we begin, note that the process is different from un-installing a Safari extension your Mac.

Steps to turn off extensions in Safari on your Mac

Step one: Make sure that you are running a modern version of Safari on your Mac. Assuming that you have met that requirement, you now need to open Safari on your Mac
Step two: Next up, head to the Safari menu and then choose Preferences. Make sure that the Extensions tab is selected before proceeding
Step three: From here, you will see a list of all Safari extensions you have installed on your Mac on the left column. You simply need to check the box next to all active Safari extensions on your Mac.
Once you have done that, your Safari extensions will remain installed in Safari, but inactive. If you want to remove them completely from Safari. Read on.

Steps to remove Safari extensions on your Mac

Step one: Open Safari on your Mac then head to Safari menu and choose Preferences to proceed
Step two: Next up, select Extensions tab. After that, select any extension you want to remove from Safari and click “Uninstall” to the right of the extension
Step three: Click Uninstall again from the menu to confirm your action.
